Welcome to the 2024-25school year!

San Bernardino City Unified School District (SBCUSD) has moved to online enrollment for all new students attending a SBCUSD elementary, middle, and high school.

We welcome and enroll all families who live in the San Bernardino City Unified School District. Enrollment for the 2023-2024 school year remains open. We are currently enrolling for the 2024-2025 school year.The first day of the 2024-2025 school year is August 5th. Enroll today and don't delay.

You are required to register through yourAeries Portal. If you have not yet established an Aeries Parent Portal account, you can "create a new account" from within the aeries system.

Your Aeries Parent Portal will allow you to update and review all necessary documents including emergency contact information, medical information, and authorizations.

Enrollment Requirements

Required Documents

1.) PROOF OF BIRTH
  • Birth Certificate

  • Hospital Certificate
  • Baptismal Certificate
  • Passport
2.) IMMUNIZATION REQUIREMENTS
  • California State law requires that all students, Transitional Kindergarten through 12th grade, be up to date on their immunizations to attend school. Proof of the following immunizations must be provided at time of enrollment:

    • Polio – 4 doses
    • DTaP (Diphtheria, Tetanus, and Pertussis) – 5 Doses
      • For all 7th-12th graders – At least one dose Tdap (pertussis-containing vaccine) given on or after 7th birthday
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): 2 Doses – both on or after the 1st birthday
    • Varicella (Chicken Pox) – 2 Doses
    • Hep B (Hepatitis B) – 3 Doses

Students entering kindergarten will also need an oral assessment form.

Physical Exam Requirement for 1st Grade

  • Students enrolling in First Grade must show proof of a physical exam.

  • A copy of the physical exam is required at the time of registration.

  • The exam must have been given within 18 months prior to the first day of attendance in 1st grade

3.) PROOF OF RESIDENCY
  • Utility bill (gas, electricity, water)within 60 days, rental/lease agreement.

How do I Enroll a New Student?

  1. Confirm you live within the SBCUSD boundaries.
    We are only able to accept students living in our boundaries through this process.

  2. Gather and scan or take pictures of all documents.
    You will need the following four items:
    1.) Proof of Birth,
    2.) Immunization record,
    3.) Proof of Address, utility bill (gas, electricity, water) within 60 days,rental/lease agreement.
    4.) Parent/Guardian ID,
    5.) Court Orders(if applicable)

How do I Request a Transfer from another district to SBCUSD?

Interdistrict Transfer(Incoming to the San Bernardino City Unified School District)

Please contact your district of residence to complete and submit the Inter-District Transfer Request.Please note that your district of residence must approve the request before SBCUSD will accept it.

The process for Inter-District Transfers (Incoming) from another district SBCUSD is as follows:

The office of the school district of residence must be contacted in order to obtain an Inter-District Transfer form from them.

  • The form must be completed and submitted to them first.
  • The district of residence must approve the request before SBCUSD will accept it.
  • When SBCUSD has received the form with the approval, we will review it within 45 days.
  • All requests are subject to space availability.
  • Once reviewed and processed, a notification will be sent by mail stating approval or denial.

Please note:
In both incoming and outgoing transfer requests, both school districts need to approve the Inter-District transfer before the student(s) can enroll at the requested school.

How do I Request a Transfer to another district?

Interdistrict Transfers (Outgoing)

Any parent or guardian of a student residing within the San Bernardino School District boundaries may apply for enrollment at any school district by submitting an interdistrict transfer form.

Interdistrict Process:

Download and save the form to your computer, complete the form, and submit the Inter-District Transfer Request form by email the attachment form to:transfers@sbcusd.k12.ca.us

English and Spanish forms are below:

  • Application of Inter-District Attendance Permit (English)
  • Solicitud para el Permiso de Asistencia Entre Distritos (Español)

SBCUSD will review and process your request within 5 days if emailed.

When approved, we will forward your request directly to the district you are requesting, at which point you may contact that district to follow up.
