Hades ~ God of the Dead is the final Boss of Immortal Throne expansion. He is fought at the very end of Hades (Act IV). Defeating him completes the game and if done on Normal and Epic difficulty unlocks the next difficulty, Epic or Legendary accordingly, with new challenges.

Hades has a 10% chance to drop The Overlord on Normal difficulty. It is the key to one of the Immortal Throne's Easter Eggs, the Secret Passage.

Hades deals only Vitality and Physical damage, as well as Reduction to Enemy's Health on Epic and Legendary difficulty. Maxed outVitality Damage Resistance is more than recommended for this fight.

First Phase[]

As a boss he is immune to Controls and almost immune to Reduction to Enemy's Health and Energy damage (Energy Burn, Energy Leech).

Abilities[]

Hades melee attacks deal Physical and Vitality damage.

  • Shadow Star. Hades tosses a red orb at a hero outside of melee range. It is the most dangerous skill in Hades' arsenal, it certainly will one shot most characters. Initial projectile splits into 8 Shadow Bolts on hit. If the globe lands on the hero, all secondary projectiles will hit him as well. Taking the whole load with 80% Vitality Damage Resistance deals 3000 damage on Normal.
  • Sickle Sweep. Hades will sweep with his sickle at melee range doing lot of Physical and Vitality damage.
  • Shadow Bolt. Hades shots a dark magic projectile dealing Physical and Vitality damage.

Strategy[]

Shadow Star has long, distinct animation of Hades raising his right hand. If a hero intends to stay in melee range, he needs to make sure that Hades isn't casting this skill while hero approaching. All his spells in Epic and Legendary will additionally reduce hero's Health.

After reaching ½ of his life, Hades' right arm will transform which means the beginning of his second phase.

Abilities[]

Hades melee attacks deals Physical and Vitality damage.

  • Shadow Balls. Hades tosses six orbs in front of him bouncing on the wall and dealing a lot of Physical and Vitality damage.
  • Sickle Sweep. Hades will sweep with his sickle at melee range doing lot of Physical and Vitality damage.
  • Shadow Bolt. Hades shots a dark magic projectile dealing Physical and Vitality damage.
  • Death Vortex. With his new arm Hades summons a vortex following the hero during 12 seconds. If one stays in it the vortex deals huge Physical and Vitality Decay Damage over 1 second.

Strategy[]

Hades has higher armor and resistances in his second phase. The Death Vortex should be avoided at all costs, as it will annihilate the hero in a few seconds. Shadow Balls are deadly too, but if one has enough Vitality Damage Resistance taking just one ball might be lethal. All Hades' spells on Epic and Legendary difficulty will deal additional Reduction to Enemy's Health. After being defeated, Hades will turn into a ghost for its third and final phase.

  • Shadow Stars. Hades randomly tosses five orbs outside of melee range. It is the most dangerous skill in Hades' arsenal, it will one shot most characters. Initial projectile splits into five Shadow Bolts on hit. If the globe lands on the hero, all secondary projectiles will hit him as well. Taking the whole load with 80% Vitality Damage Resistance deals 3000 damage on Normal.
  • Expanding Ring. A stunning circle of spirits expands from Hades dealing Physical and Vitality damage.
  • Shadow Bolt. Hades' basic attack, he shots a dark magic projectile dealing Physical and Vitality damage.
  • Uber Shadow Bolt. Strong version of Shadow Bolt whicn Reduces Enemy's Health. Likely to one shot everything.
  • Spirit Wave. Hades summons a large wave dealing Physical and Vitality damage, causing Reduction to Enemy's Health, and also inflicting Vitality Decay Damage over 4 seconds.

Strategy[]

Hades has higher armor and resistances in his third phase. The Uber Shadow Bolt should be avoided at all costs as it will obliterate everything. Shadow Stars like in his first phase are deadly too, he will have a unique animation but it will be harder to dodge the Shadow Stars because they are random and numerous. All his spells in Epic and Legendary difficulty will cause additional Reduction to Enemy's Health.
