Can you destroy a faction in Kenshi? ›

Players can attempt to destroy factions which they don't like by taking out their leaders. Killing or imprisoning faction leaders creates new World States which often result in Town Overrides. Overwritten towns are entirely new locations and any Player-Owned Buildings in Town are completely forgotten by the game.

A low level and low risk area, the Border Zone has a few solid options for players looking to start out their settlement journey in Kenshi. Basically a no-mans-land slotted between the Shek Kingdom and the Holy Nation, the Border Zone is actually the home of several game starts and is therefore quite forgiving.

Go to town you want to claim. Open ingame editor with "SHIFT + F12". Select Town Placement and search for the name of the town you are in. Click on the name of the town you are in and then the town marker statue should vanish.

If you want all four limbs removed at the same time, then the best way is the peeler machine. Make sure you have someone with lockpicking above 40 so you can open it before the character dies, You will need to strip them of all their armor otherwise the peeler will destroy it before it gets to their limbs.

You can not completely destroy a faction, at best you can leave them without any control points and/or assassinate/turn all their councilors. They will still get a trickle of influence though they can use to get new councilors.

If High Inquisitor Seta, High Inquisitor Valtena and the Holy Lord Phoenix (blessed be his name) are all killed or imprisoned, the Holy Nation can collapse and most of their towns will fall into the hands of other factions.

Bar squads such as the recruits shown on this page will NOT respawn or change over time. If you have emptied a bar, or they got killed, do not expect it to refill at some point. An Import must be performed for any of them to refill.
